Exploring the unseen Thailand - through Food, Culture, Heritage & sports

Usually when it comes to visiting the #landOfSmile, mostly people go to Bangkok,Phuket,Krabi and Pattaya. But there is more to the Thailand than just tourist places, we were very lucky to visit the Buriram where we saw the Heritage, Cultural,Food and sports side of the Thailand.

Here are some of moments in my video :

Heritage: We visited the Hindu temples and sites in buriram, which includes Prasat Hin Phanom Rung & Prasat Hin Mueang Tam. This temple is located around 100KM from the buriram airport and can be reachable by the taxi or private vehicle as the best way. The temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva and located on the top of extinct volcano. You can buy the ticket on the spot, which cost just around 200THB.

We were amazed to see lot of Hindu devotees from Thailand were chanting and dancing as a respect to the Lord shiva. Being Hindu myself, i felt i am in some part of India.

Note : As it's a religious place, so it's suggested to wear appropriate clothing. Kindly avoid shorts or sleeveless clothing to respect the religion and culture.

Sports : On the second day, we head out to feel the thrill of sports and action. First we tried the hands on the Go-Karting at the Silachai Go Karting. The smell of the burning rubber after the Go Karting session just pump my adrenaline level to the max.
Next we had to the the Thunder castle at i-Mobile Stadium, which is one of best football stadium and offers a huge seating capacity, even though build in record time :D
The next BIG THING on the visiting list was Chang International Circuit, which will witness the awesomeness of MOTOGP next year :D

This place has many circuit for drag racing as well place for the drifting, sounds exciting right?

We were thrilled to see the racing of the Pickup trucks as well as Super Turbo race cars.
The circuit is developed based on the concept of Football stadium, which allows to see the all part of the track from the stands. I can't wait to go back to this track to see the international events like Moto GP in the future.

DAY 3
If you visit buriram and looking for a good place to stay, i would strongly recommend the Play-la-ploen. The rooms have a decorated theme based on the flowers in first building, whereas second building has the room based on the popular cities in the world. It may cost you from 3000-6000THB for spacious rooms or suites.

Along with the pleasant rooms, there are lot of other activities can be explored. We tried cooking classes, where we prepared Fish cakes and Papaya salad. We also tried hands on classes for the thai desserts. If you like outdoor, there are lot of adventure activities offered by the resort. If you pick the right season, you may harvest the Grapes or Strawberries too :)

Cultural: Next day, we visited to the Surin village where we saw the lifecycle of the Silkworm and the intensive process behind producing the best quality skill. It may cost 10000THB for 1 meter, which indicates the quality of the silk and passion for making this culture alive.
FYI: if below image freaks you out, imagine what i was going through seeing all the stages of the worm from its first day to the last breadth... i felt something was on to me :D

Food: Well this gonna take a long section, but cut to the chase i had the best of Thai food from the Bangkok and Isan. It was too spicy , as you may have to dial 101 :D
One of the best drink i tasted in #Thailand , #RiceWhiskey is more like Vodka/Soju(Korean drink), which has more amount of alcohol %. I had around 11 shots, surprisingly i was still standing on my feets , that's never happened after even 5 shots of vodka.

The Thai food is enriched with a lot of flavours which includes sweetness, tanginess and most important the spicy one :)

There were many highlights apart from the above list , which includes Traditional Thai massage, Hospitality from the smiling faces all over the thailand and many more .... The most important part is to meet so many people and becoming friends for lifetime. I wish to visit the Thailand again to cherish these lovely memories.

I hope you can visit the land of smiles and have a good trip.
